Marina Miracle Face Oil & Cleanser – Recension
The founder of the Marina Miracle, Marina Elisabeth Engervik, suffering herself of atopic eczema and experienced side effects such as irritation, sensitivity and acne of ordinary conventional skin care containing strong and artificial chemicals. Ingredients from nature gave her positive results and there began her interest in creating skin care with nature's own healing herbs and plant extracts. Marina Miracle skincare-range consists of facial oils, serum, mask, peeling, cleaning and serum and oil for men. The products are 100% natural and contains at least 70% certified organic ingredients from Debio or Ecocert. All products is also free of water.
Here are the three products I tested from Marina Miracle. I got me these products from Skin & Cosmetics Trade Fair in September and I have now been using them for over 4 weeks.
Sweet & Creamy Oil Cleanser
A creamy oil cleanser to suit all skin types, recommended morning and evening. Ingredients include sunflower oil, marigold oil, sea buckthorn, fermented (probiotics) broccoli and coconut. Comes in green glass bottle with a pump (110 mL). Have a lovely light scent of vanilla. When this creamy oil comes in contact with water it becomes a rich cleansing milk. I first wash my face with lukewarm water and take one - two pumps of cleanser in my hand and apply with gentle movements with the fingers over the face and neck.
Add some additional water and rub some more. Then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and pat the skin dry with a towel. This version works great on my skin. The skin becomes clean and makeup residues are removed effectively but does not dry out the skin. I do cleaning at night and skip the morning. Sweet & Creamy Oil Cleanser is very durable.
I really like this cleanser. It cleans effectively, it is good to my tricky reactive skin and the smell is mild. It meets all the requirements I have in a good cleanser.
Herbal Face Oil
Herbal Face Oil should fit normal / dry and combination skin. Herbal Face Oil will balance, moisturize and also reduce fine lines and relieve irritated skin and eczema. 4-6 drops applied morning and night. Ingredients include jojoba, avocado, aloe vera, raspberry seed oil, cardamom, lavender and even tea tree oil and camphor. Herbal Face Oil comes in a green glass bottle (5 ml and 25 ml) with dropper. It is important to shake the bottle before usage so the herbs gets thoroughly mixed. Herbal Face Oil has a rich texture, but does not feel greasy on the skin.
I use 5 drops on cleansed face and neck. Rub in with light movements (often in lymph direction). The oil has a mild scent of lavender that is soothing. The skin feels moisturized and boosted with nutrients and the oil gives the skin luster. I use this oil morning and night. It doesn't take much so the product lasts a long time. So although 25 ml sounds like not so much this oil will last you for at least 3 months.
Just as with the cleanser, the Herbal Face Oil is gentle on my sensitive skin. Properly hydrating and gives my skin the nutrition it needs without getting irritated.
Argan Night Serum
A facial oil which is used for the night and have anti-aging properties, exfoliating and supplies the skin with moisture. Should suit all skin types. Argan Night serum comes in a green glass bottle (5 ml and 25 ml) with pipette. The night serum contains, among other things apricot oil, almond oil, argan oil and AHA fruit acids. AHA helps to break down dead skin cells so that the serum can work deeper. Since this serum is more active it is recommended to apply only 2-3 times per week.
The bottle is shaken before use so that content (herbs) are mixed. Argan Night Serum has a lovely scent of clementine. The serum feels like an oil, a little lighter texture than Herbal Face Oil. I use the serum two times per week. 4 drops in the hand and massage lightly into the face and neck. The two evenings a week I use the serum it replace the Herbal Face Oil. The serum will last you a long time. My bottle is only 5ml and there is much left in it.
I'm very careful when it comes to a little more active products. To use this serum two times a week seem to be just right for my skin. The night serum provides a nice exfoliation and anti-aging (smoothing) effect. In the morning, the skin does not feel dry or tight. So again, my assessment is that while the serum is effective its also gentle on my sensitive skin. It has not caused any irritation.
For me as that has a sensitive, reactive skin and skin diseases like eczema and psoriasis and also sufferers from allergy, it is often difficult to use products with essential oils. It comes down to the composition of the different oils to make sure its not excessive, but that the beneficial effect of them still remain. I hope you understand what I mean. I strongly believe in the essential oils effect both physically and mentally, but sometimes it can be too much and too intense scents as both respiratory and skin reacts negatively.
Here Marina Miracle hit the target just right in its composition, at least according to my needs and sensitivities. It's not often I find a skin care brand, where the majority of the brand's products fit so perfectly into what my skin accept.
